Massage Therapy
WHAT IS massage therapy?
Massage therapy is a hands-on manipulation of the soft tissues of the body (specifically, the muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints), which improves health and well-being by acting on the muscular, nervous and circulatory system.
WHAT can I expect during my first appointment?
Before your treatment, your therapist will take a case history and will perform assessments if needed. During this first visit an outline of treatment and goals will be discussed so that you clearly understand the aims and outcomes of the treatment procedure. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have before, during or after your massage.
IS my massage covered by the Provincial Health Plan?
Massage is not covered by the Provincial Health Plan, but most extended health care and insurance plans cover the cost of part or all of a massage treatment performed by a Registered Massage Therapist. Please consult your plan for further details before making an appointment.
